I’ve had a phone call in this last week from Ann Travis, from home! She told me that Dave was making great progress, and everything is working well for him, but that she had had a couple of setbacks in the recovery process, with nasty infections causing difficulties. She asked me to thank everyone for their cards and good wishes, and especially Gill and chef Julie for their invaluable support and help. It is so much better to be in your own home, and without them, that would have been impossible. I’m sure it won’t be long before we see Ann and Dave out and about again.
Maggie has been asked to reconstitute the “Obreedience” team for the Oxfordshire Game Fair on July 20th, at Blenheim I think. Sadly, we are double-booked for that day, but Caron McLure and her blonde, Tiggy, are taking Acorn’s and my place, and I am sure they will make a really good job of it.
Sadly, Liz and Lynne have had to take back a five year old black & gold dog they bred, whose owner returned to her home country of Norway a while back, and is now unable to keep him. He is lovely with people, but would appreciate a home where he is the only dog. He will be castrated before he is allowed to go to his new home, and in the right hands he would make a superb loyal pet and it would be nice to give him a new start. If anybody would like to find out more about him, please ring Lynne or Liz direct on 0115 9841870
The Judge from the Irish show a couple of weeks ago, Mrs EiIeen Matthews, has been kind enough to send me her report, and this will appear in the next newsletter. Talking of which this task has now been taken over by Maggie Spencer, so anything of interest concerning our breed should be forwarded to her. Julie Condron has previously carried out this job and a big thank you must go to her for many years of interesting newsletters.
