Firstly apologies as my breed notes seem to have got lost in the great universal cyberspace over the last couple of weeks! Hopefully that is all rectified now and sorry if you might be getting some duplicated info!

Sunday 13th September is Richmond Championship Show. This is the last year the show is being held at Loseley House near Guildford, I believe it is moving to Stoneleigh for 2027. Mr Neil Hood is our judge and he has an entry of 14 Hovawarts. We are in Ring 4 after 42 Boxers and 21 Great Danes, judging starts at 9am.
Entries close for the Hovawart of GB Open Show at Oswestry Agricultural Showground, Park Hall, SY11 4AS on Saturday 12th September. The show is on Sunday 4th October and opens at 9am for those that wish to, there will be “Training” in the show ring before the official judging gets started to hopefully put any nerves for dogs or handlers to rest before Mr Craig Hosie our Breed Specialist judge takes center stage. There will also be in the morning “Have A Go” Rally with help and instruction on what the signs mean from Janice Robinson with an unofficial fun Rally competition in the afternoon for anyone that wishes to take part. Also I will be there for anyone that wants to do either a Bronze, Silver or Gold RKC Good Citizen Test throughout the day. Please look up the criteria for whichever level you qualify for on the RKC website to find out the requirements and exercises or contact me for further info. The Schedule and Entry form can all be found on the Hovawart Club of GB website on the Events page, you can enter online or via post (if you are quick) There will be tea/coffee available but please bring your own lunch and plenty of cash for the Hovawart Shop and Raffle as the proceeds will go towards the fundraising for the International Hovawart Foundation Conference, Gala Dinner and Show which we are hosting in August 2027.
Please do not feel you have to show your Hovie to join in the fun if you just wish to come along and have a day with like minded people and our wonderful breed you are more than welcome. Also on the Saturday 3rd October we are going to meet up at The British Ironworks, for a walk round with our Hovies at 11am, there is an entrance fee but it is worth it have a look at their website www.britishironworkscentre.co.uk , they have plenty of parking and the fabulous Forge Cafe with their super cakes!! It is only 3 miles from the Oswestry Showground. SY11 4JH. So while in that part of the country take the chance to have a good look at the wonderful unique sculptures mostly made out of recycled metals set up in 70 acres of land to explore.
