11 Hovawarts were entered at The Working and Pastoral Association of Wales Championship Show in a fabulous sunny Builth Wells. There were no absentees for our Judge Mrs D Stansbury.

All classes were mixed dog and bitch with Best of Breed being Mrs C & Mr J Mclure’s Kanukalos Burletta who was also awarded Best Veteran. Reserve Best Bitch went to Mrs M Spencer’s Hightimbers Monkey Puzzle. Best Dog Ms P Foakes Kanukalos Rhapsody, and Reserve Best Dog Ms P Foakes, Hightimbers Oaks of Tutelary. Best Puppy was Mrs C Roberts Farmwatch Fast and Furious.

Mr S W Hall was judging the Any Variety Rare Breed Working classes his Best Bitch was Mr N and Mrs S Johnson’s Pines Bridge and Reserve Best Bitch Mrs J Robinson and Mr D Brown’s Hightimbers Oreo Cookie.  

Thank you to Craig Hosie for forwarding me the details of two Open shows in Scotland where Hovawart breed classes are on offer. Perthshire Canine Club are holding their show at Errol Showground on Saturday 4^th May. Postal entries close on Saturday 13^th April, Online entries on Saturday 20^th April. Dundee Canine Club are at Camperdown Country Park on Sunday 9^th June, postal entries close on Saturday 13^th May, online entries Saturday 25^th May. Online entries can be found for both shows on www.MBJPRINT.CO.UK.  

We have 17 Hovawarts making 20 entries for WELKS Show on Saturday 27^th April at Three Counties Showground, Malvern.  Our judge Mrs Del Richards has 51 Alaskan Malamutes to judge before Hovawarts and it states on the order of judging sheet Hovawarts will not be judged before 10.30am.
