The Tobias Trophy was conceived because the Dog Press gave equal weight to wins at championship shows, regardless of how many were there, and didn’t include any open shows when calculating the top hovawart for the year.

The Tobias Trophy uses a points system based on attendance, and (because we have no CCs and therefore championship shows and open shows are effectively the same) we give equal weight to any show that has breed classes, but we ONLY award points for those specific classes. Points are awarded to the Best of Breed (BoB) and Best opposite Sex (BoS).
